About UsThe Scottish Waste Awareness Group (SWAG) was set up in 2000 with the remit of changing public attitudes and behaviour towards domestic waste. One of SWAG's key aims is to deliver the national Waste Aware Scotland campaign*. The programme aims to raise awareness of, and change public attitudes towards reduce, reuse and recycle and is closely linked to the National Waste Plan for Scotland. Please click here to find out more about the overall Waste Aware Scotland campaign. Part of SWAG's role is to develop national waste aware tools, including the Waste Aware Construction website. The Waste Aware Construction website is funded by the Scottish Government and has also been endorsed by the Construction Confederation. In order to ensure that the website and tools have been developed with the end-user in mind, SWAG has worked closely with both the construction and waste management industries whilst developing the website. The Scottish Government has also launched the It's Our Future campaign, which aims to encourage more people, to think now about the steps we can all take to live within our environmental means. You can find out more about this campaign here. *Waste Aware Scotland is a programme of Keep Scotland Beautiful. Keep Scotland Beautiful is an operating name of Environmental Campaigns (Scotland).
